1. Lalitta Café (Chiang Rai)
Our bucket-list café, and it lived up to the reels. It's a misty, fairy-tale garden built around a waterfall, so it looks unreal. Entry is about 60 baht per person. We only had coffee (it was fine), but we stayed 2–3 hours for the setting.
2. Mars Café (Chiang Mai)
The whole interior looks like Mars. It's fun and unique, but go in the evening. We went in the morning and it was empty.
3. Versailles de Flore (Chiang Mai)
A European palace with Greek-gods décor, so you forget you're in Thailand until you open the menu. It's also a hotel. The shrimp basil rice with fried egg was delicious.
4. Chom Café (Chiang Mai)
A huge garden café with a waterfall and seating zones, and it's Michelin-listed. Order the longan jelly smoothie. It had the best food of our trip.
Tip: skip hotel breakfasts in Chiang Mai, because there are too many great cafés to try.
