One of our favourite Bangkok evenings: a river boat to the "mother of all malls", a riverfront night market, and an all-you-can-eat seafood dinner.

Getting to ICONSIAM (take the boat!)
Take the BTS green line to Saphan Taksin, use Exit 2 and walk to Sathorn Pier. Look for the ICONSIAM kiosk: the boat cost about 8 baht. You could take a taxi, but the boat ride on the Chao Phraya is scenic and an experience in itself.
ICONSIAM
It's huge, which is why it's called the mother of all malls.
- SOOKSIAM on the ground floor: an indoor floating market with Thai street food and crafts from all over the country.
- The riverside Apple Store. The best river views from the mall are accessed through it.
- Keep 3–4 hours. You'll need them.
Asiatique The Riverfront
A warehouse-style night market and mall with over 1,500 boutiques and around 40 restaurants. It's open roughly 4 pm to midnight, with live music, shows and great evening lighting for photos. Locals come here too. Asiatique has a free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier in the evenings.
Kodtalay unlimited seafood buffet
Our favourite part. Kodtalay sits right on the Chao Phraya river, with an unlimited seafood buffet from 599 baht (about ₹1,500). For seafood lovers, it's a must.
Next time: Jurassic World: The Experience at Asiatique.
