Nine days, eight nights, three bases, north to south: a private pool villa in Ubud for temples, rice terraces and an ATV track, Seminyak for Tanah Lot and Canggu, and Kuta for Uluwatu and a full day on Nusa Penida. Flown IndiGo from Mumbai. If you take one thing from this: plan nothing for the day you land.
Yes, if you stick to the south and centre: Ubud properly, Uluwatu, Nusa Penida and two slow days. Not enough to add north Bali, east Bali and the Gilis too.
How many days in Ubud versus the beaches?
Three nights in Ubud is the sweet spot. Two feels rushed once you count arrival day.
What do Indians need to enter Bali?
Three separate things: Visa on Arrival or e-VOA (IDR 500,000), the Bali Tourist Levy (IDR 150,000) on the official Love Bali portal, and the free All Indonesia Arrival Card. Passport valid 6+ months with two blank pages. Rules change, so check before you book.
Is Nusa Penida worth it as a day trip?
Yes, but it is a hard day: pre-dawn start, a choppy crossing, rough roads and steep stairs. Keep the day before light.
Do I need to book tours in advance?
For Nusa Penida, the Kecak dance and any beach-club day bed, yes. Drivers and temple entries can be arranged a day or two ahead.
