1. Fansipan
Take the monorail from Sun Plaza to the cable car (20–25 minutes) up to Vietnam's highest point. Fog or clear, go. The last cable car down is at 4:30 pm. Book on Klook a day ahead with code SUNNSHANT.
2. Cat Cat Village
A traditional Hmong village with a famous waterfall. The full loop takes about 3 hours: easy going down, breathless coming back up. There's a small market in the middle for shopping and local coffee.
3. Moana Café
Sapa's most photogenic café, with valley views. Entry includes a complimentary drink. Go in the afternoon to avoid queues.
4. Glass Bridge
A must if you're fine with heights, and the valley views are unforgettable. Book a day in advance, because same-day tickets are hard to get.
5. Heaven's Gate & Silver Waterfall
On the same route as the Glass Bridge, so cover all three in one day. Book a round-trip cab from your hotel, since cabs back are scarce.
6. Local food
Vegetarian? Order the veg hotpot. You'll love it. Want home food? There's an Indian restaurant every 700–800 m in the centre.
7. A Vietnamese massage
A 45–60 minute session will undo a day of hills. It's cheaper than Thailand, and genuinely relaxing.
Bonus: coming from Hanoi, take the overnight train. It's an experience in itself.
Live Agoda prices. Book on Agoda at the same price, and we earn a small commission.
